Q:  Can over exercise cause a slight elevation in your ALT liver enzyme, normally 30 for me, now 68? All other liver labs unremarkable.  Also, changed to a new blood pressure pill Atacand 2 months ago...

Hi, exercise usually is not related with raised ALT levels, but chronic smoking and rarely or infrequently drug Atacand do cause raised ALT levels. Normally, an increase of  3 folds from baseline in ALT levels, is considered as clinically significant increase.

Please relax, don't worry about ALT level, get it checked again after one month and if significant increase is seen i.e more than or equal to 90, stop Atacand and replace it other drug.
