I have had 2 ACL reconstructions and have not done leg extensions since my first surgery about 6 years ago. Today I did some with my trainer. I feel good and there is no pain. I can even bend my surgically repaired knee enough to touch my glute. My doctor advised me not to do leg extensions because of the stress on the knee, but that was 3 years ago. They used the patellar ligament to replace my ACL. Is it safe to do leg extensions or do leg extensions put too much stress on the knees?
