Leg swelling-please help!

Hi, I'm Jade-I'm 18 and for the past four years I have had a random swelling in my left leg (my calf). It's only light swelling. It usually occurs when the weather changes-especially when it's very cold. It ALWAYS occurs after I exercise. It doesn't get hot or turn red (like I've read some blood clots do) and I saw a doctor when I was 13-he just gave me a compression sock. I talked to another orthopedic doctor that's just a family friend. She said it may be compartment syndrome but doubted it was a blood clot or anything mega serious.. I have no history of clotting in my family-I do not smoke and I'm not on birth control, I am about 15 pounds overweight. It doesn't pit very much-only when I wear tight socks (but so does my other leg) I sometimes have light muscle spasms and the muscle is tender but it's never PAINFUL. Is this anything to worry about? I get the pins and needles feeling but my feet are never "cold" I will go to the doctor as soon as I can but until I get in I'd really like to know. Thank you!
