Lower Leg / Achilles Pain

Lower Leg / Achilles Pain

A few years ago I felt a pop around my achilles tendon while running downstairs to catch a class in college. There was no real pain just tightness, and if I twisted my ankle it would twist out and I'd be fine.

Well turns out that it happened a few more times after that and each time it took longer to "twist" out. I was on the treadmill a few months ago and ended up feeling the tightness grow in my achilles area. The next day it was throbbing and in quite a bit of pain. I also feel like the arches of my foot in that leg are extremely tight as well as my toes.

Can anyone recommend a possible cause or way to have this stop? Its hard to be active with it and I feel that I'm compromising the way I walk on it. There sometimes feels like a click on it while walking.

Thanks,

Matt

Hello!

Start taking some pain killers initially for couple of days to start with and apply ice packs to decrease the pain and inflammation and rest.

If the symptoms stop then start stretching exercises and continue active exercises or else see an orthopedician to diagnose any injury.

Take care!
