You might want to have a bone scan sometimes stress fractures do not show up on MRI's. (Mine did not it only show up as inflammation.)

I hope this helps,

PS Find a foot specialist who is an MD (preferably one from a university hospital) they know much more than an podiatrist.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi there!

Well, without a clinical evaluation it would be difficult to determine the cause of the lump. Possibilities that may need to be considered include infections, inflammations, bursitis, neuroma, growth from the bones or the surrounding connective tissue etc. It would be best to have this evaluated by an orthopedician for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
