MRi Results

I have the results from my MRI. Could you please tell me what it means?
The patient has a superior labral tear that extends anterior and posteriorly. Also involves the attachment of the biceps tendon. Chronic tendinopathy is present in the infraspinatus and supraspinatus, but no obvious tear in the rotator cuff is identified. The teres minor and subscapularis tendons appear normal. There is a tear through the inferior glenohumeral ligament.
Thanks for your help!

Hello Dear,
A superior labral tear is an injury to the cartilage that covers the top part of the shoulder socket Most superior labral tears can be treated with anti-inflammatory medications, activity modification and physical therapy.
When the labrum of the shoulder joint is torn, the stability of the shoulder joint is compromised. A Bankart lesion occurs when an individual sustains a shoulder dislocation. When the inferior glenohumeral ligament is torn, this is called a Bankart lesion.
Chronic tendinopathy of the infraspinatus and supraspinatus is due to the inflammation of these muscles.
Most superior labral tears can be treated with anti-inflammatory medications, activity modification and physical therapy.

If nonoperative treatment fails, surgery may be indicated.
