MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello!

Change his footwear, make it more comfortable. Apply ice packs and give him over the counter ibuprofen or naproxen and ask him to rest for 3-4 days.

If his pain continues he would need a proper clinical examination and atleast an X-ray for a proper diagnosis and treatment.

Take care!
