Opinions on OrthoIndy and UCLA Spine Center

Hi there.  I wanted to get both patient's and medical professional opinions on both UCLA Spine Center and OrthoIndy.  I have been seen at UCLA SC but am thinking of getting a second opinion at OrthoIndy in Indianapolis where my family is located.  I may need surgery and it would be better for me to have it done at OrthoIndy where my family lives.

I am confident UCLA SC knows their stuff, and they seem to appreciate the magnitude of my clinical problems and that they are impacting my life, but they haven't exactly built my confidence yet that they really care what happens to me beyond taking my money for expensive treatments.

I am young, but have L5-S1 and L4-L5 herniations with annular tears impinging on the thecal sac.  They think that's my main problem.  I also have spinal stenosis and bone spurs around the same levels.  An epidural worked really well but only for about 2 weeks.  They did something during the procedure where they hit a nerve causing some involuntary reflexes in my leg.  When the epidural wore off my sciatic pain came back far worse than before so now it's really horrible and badly affecting school and work.  I'm not sure if the weird leg reflex thing made things worse or not.  There were students being supervised doing my epidural and they seemed surprised that it happened.  So I'm a little leery about dealing with them with further procedures including possible surgery.  Surgery seems to be a likely next step so I want to find out about OrthoIndy too.  I'm hoping there might be other modalities to help this as I'm very scared of surgery.  I've tried a lot of things in the years I've had problems, PT, chiro, accupuncture, osteopathic medicine and none have provided more than very short term relief at best.

So I realize it's very unlikely any patients are going to know about both UCLA and OrthoIndy.  So I was wondering what professionals who more likely know something about both have to say, and what patients say about each individually.
