Orthovisc Injections

I am suffering from severe arthritis in my left knee brought on by an earlier surgery.  My doctor wants me to take Orthovisc injections to try and delay the inevitable partial knee replacement.  Has anyone had those, can you give me any information about the procedure?

Hello Lexy202,

Orthovisc is similar to synovial fluid, a substance that occurs naturally in the joints. Synovial fluid acts as a lubricant and shock absorber. Orthovisc is injected into the knee joints for the treatment of pain in individuals with osteoarthritis.
This would delay the surgical intervention but not the last answer for knee replacement. The earlier in the disease it is initiated, the better it is.
