Pain Medication

Pain Medication

I just went to an Orthopedic yesterday. It is determined that i have tennis elbow, golfers elbow and CTS in my right hand and arm. I was given an injection of cortisone in the tennis elbow location. I am to go for a nerve test at the end of the week then follow up with my Orthopedic. I woke up this morning with pain and a feeling of bruising and stiffness in the location of the shot. I understand that the golfers elbow will still bother me as will the carpal tunnel. I am reluctant to ask for pain medication but advil is just not cutting it. Your thoughts? How should I go about asking? Very uncomfortable for me.

Good morning DSG3, get a second opinion and don't assume your current doctor is right, i made the mistake getting a hand doctor close to the house and not doing some research first.  only use a orthopedic hand doctor that has had specific schooling for hands and he's been doing it for at least 10 years and do a medical back ground check of the doctor.  i tell you this because i had to fire my orthopedic hand doctor after he performed 3 surgeries and destroyed my wrist to the point on thing left to do was have a wrist fusion.  for the tennis elbow i bought one of those $15 velcro straps that you may have seen people ware, well it helped for me.  from my reading and research tennis elbow just takes time to heal, you gotta quit playing for awhile.  i've only used IB profin 800's and they helped.  i think that equals 4 advils.  ask the doctor whats best for you.  good luck.  Phill
