Pain in Right hip after intense exercise

by wetfacedsleeper, Jun 18, 2009 11:15PM
Hi, Hope i've posted this in the correct section.

im 27 and I've been having trouble recently with pain in my right hip after exercises. I'm quite active, running twice a week, football once a week, Martial arts twice a week and until recently I have been injury free.

I did a 50km hike a couple of weeks ago, did the first 25km at a good fast walk, stopped for a bit to eat, then continued my walk. The problem I have is that as soon as I started walking again, my right hip became very painful and I struggled to walk the rest of the walk.

This has been happening more and more often.. I went for a run last week which Is a 'there and back route' I made the run there, stopped for a second, started my way back and then got the same pain again.

Martial Arts.. I was fine for my first bout of sparring, but after that, I couldn't kick above knee hight and again, was in pain.

Last night I played football, First half.. no problem. Stopped for half-time, pain kicked in and I couldn't run properly for the second half.

I don't know what causes it and i'm hoping someone can shed some light on the situation. Its causing me real problems as i'm training for a big run and an even bigger hike at the moment.

Thanks in advance
