Pain in my knee and lower leg

My knee and lower leg have been in pain for a few months now.  I believe the pain is from jogging and putting too much pressure on my leg in general.  It hurts mostly when I walk or put pressure on it.  Resting my leg and taking naproxen and ibprofen to reduce inflammation does not seem to be healing it.  Is it possible that this injury will require surgery?  What should I do?

I am 15 years old and I don't do sports, but sometimes all of a sudden I will get this bad pain in my knee and lower leg by the ankles. I don't know what to do about it but take ibuprofen. Should I be worried? Thank you

hi buddy,
i will be surprised if someone diagnosis osteoarthritis in you. But , maybe rheumatoid arthritis.
But still, the only reason of pain can be either chondromalacae or Osteochondral fracture or meniscus damage.
So please visit an orthopaedician quickly.

Hi abhijeetvikram,  I am 22 years old.  I am an engineer so most of the day I am sitting down at a desk.  The pain is mostly on the right side of my right knee but sometimes it shifts down and my calf hurts too.  Any help is appreciated.  Thanks!

hello ee,
i need to know about your age and profession. If you are in the osteoarthritis age category then the cause is obvious and you will require rest.
If you are inthe younger age group, you might be having meniscus problem, chondromalaciae patellae, etc.

You can take an x-ray also,

knee, both A.P and Lateral views and upload then on site so that i can see them and comment.
regards

PS- surgery i can't comment , till i get these answers
