Pain in top of feet and shin

For the last 6-8 weeks I have been having pain when I step on my feet in the morning, it feels like the bones in the top of my foot are pressing together, I generally goes away once I walk on it until I sit a while. Until later in the evening it beguins again.   Lately though it feels like a nerve or something is being pinched in my shin and I have to take ibuprophen before going to bed so that it doesn't wake me. Any idea what I problem might be, I thought my arch might be falling but can't find any articles explaining it.  Thanks in advance. Lisa

After furthur research, I have been trying exercises for Planter Fasiatis(I don't think I spelled it correctly). It seems to be helping. though the pain seemed to be initally in the outer foot bones on top when I started the exercise(mainly rolling a tennis ball under the arch of my foot I realized how very tender it was. I will try the exercises a week more and if it persists will go to the Dr. Thank you.

Hi, how old are you? There is possibility of stress fracture of metatarsals, neuropathy, tendonitis etc. If possible get X ray foot done to rule out stress fracture.
