Patella Femoral Syndrome

I'm 15 and I have Patella Femoral Syndrome and really bad tendonitis. I went to two doctors already and they said its one of the worst cases they have ever seen. I am a cheerleader and I had a competition yesterday and I was tumbling and my knee gave out on me and then a couple hours later my knee was getting sharp pains and I looked down and my whole knee was purple and blue. I was just wondering if this is normal with tendonitis and the patella femoral syndrome?

I have already gone for x rays there was no fractures. I do ice all the time and take tylenol because i cant take anything else. Also the two doctors i went too where orthopedics. See the thing is with my sport  it doesn't allow me to take time off right now so I'm a little stuck. So if i don't take anytime off from my sport how bad can my injury get?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello!

Due to inflammation you have acute pain, redness and swelling. You would need to take anti inflammatory drugs, use ice packs and rest completely.

I would suggest you initially to go for an X-ray to rule out fractures and then to go for an MRI and follow up with an orthopedician to rule out any ligament injuries in your knee joint if required.

Take care!
