Physical Therapy or Chiropractor

by popspocatell, May 01, 2007 12:00AM
2003, foot got caught in hole in curb and twisted to keep from falling, tore meniscus, left knee.  Tore meniscus right knee 2005.  Knees bad shape.  Present doctor saying need knee replacement.  In FEb volunteered to have MRI at VA where I work as it was new and they needed volunteers to test.  They did brain scan 2 hours later, right arm started going numb, then spasms.  Went to osteo path same office as ortho doctor for knees.  Did not have cortizone for 4 months, had scheduled knee surgery for May, could hardly walk using cane only. Ortho doctor would not give cortizone, told me to take 24 advil/tylenol a day instead from March to May.  For one month had to brace self with cane with right arm in spasms.  Had EMG osteopath in April.  Said pinched nerve, possible carpal tunnel.  Said possible MRI (said he could not read one I brought from VA) and surgery.

I am going to see Michael Andersen, Columbia St Mary, Milw May 7th... Would like to schedule surgery for knees, but have this problem with back...

My question is... I need to try to get well enough with pinched nerve... Osteo path gave me RX for 2 weeks 3 times a week Physical Therapy... but I am thinking Chiropractor as I know I have not been walking or standing straight for a long time and have a feeling my spine is out of wack... Probably why the 45 minutes on table in helmets with feet elevated... and crooked spine all ready, created the pinched nerve... Thanks for listening.
