Pinky finger surgery?

by Caileigh, Oct 18, 2009 07:49PM
well i was born with my finger bent like i cant straighten it on a flat surface. its just always bent. i was going to get surgery on it before but the odctor said it woud be better not to because if they tried to straighten it, then there MIGHT be too much scar tissue and it might just get worse. but i still want to do it so my mom is going to make an app at a different orthopedics. i have some questions though:

1) how will they do the surgery? like will they break the bone and then put metal inside to sraighten it or something (its the actual bone that will not straighten)
2) do u think they will keep me awake during the surgery since it is just on my pinky finger or will they give me a choice to be on anastesia or what?
3) if they did break it, will i get a cast? how long will i have to wear that for do you think??

sry i know its a lot but all help is appreciated!!
thanks!!!!!!!
