When an anesthesiologist was giving me an epiduralExtradural hemorrhage it was extremely painfulPainful menstrual periods and as soon as he put the needle in my back my handsHand or foot spasms Hand tremor went numb. I was 19 when i had it and I am 23 now. before this date I had NEVER experienced any problems and now I have been in severe pain every year since. My handsHand or foot spasms Hand tremor go completely numb except for the excruciating pain in my wristWrist pain through my thumb and index fingerAmputated finger Amyloidosis on the fingers Clubbed fingers Cryoglobulinemia - of the fingers Finger pain Herpes zoster (shingles) on the hand and fingers Janeway lesion on the finger Kawasaki's disease, peeling of the fingertips Nail abnormalities Replantation of digits Ringworm, tinea manuum on the finger and some times all my fingers when i am doing ANYTHING with my hands and mainly when i am SLEEPING. "thats the worst" It started with pain and numbness only when i was sleeping at night so it would wake me up and i have to stand up multiple times through the night and relax my arms to my sides in order to be able to go back to sleep. my fingers get swollen when it happens. I seen a neurologist and he gave me some Anti-inflammatories to take for 6 months and sent me home diagnosing me with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. I took them for about 3 months and the pain and numbness seemed to finally go away. I didn't have any problems for about 10 months but it came back much worse then the first time and no matter how many med's I took it did not help long term or short. I have been to many doctors and they all just keep sending me in circles to different doctors and no one has been willing to help me other than pain pills and send me home. It now is so bad that some days i wake up and one of my hands will be completely stiff, impossible to move, and so excruciatingly painful that I'm literally screaming and crying while my son and husband sit there feeling helpless. After talking with my husband we have realized that it is only in mid summer every year that i am pain free therefore it subsides during the summer EVERY time? So, I am left to ask if anyone has a clue what is wrong with me please respond. I have total numbness, Severe stiffness. Severe pain and Terrible swelling in BOTH hands and every time it happens my fingers get very cold like there is no circulation. Why would this only happen in the winter months and why if it is Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is it getting worse every year? Why do I have to sleep sitting up with my hands hanging over the side of the chair with full arm braces every night just to get sleep for more than 15 minutes at a time all through the winter? What does the temp have to do with it? Just laying down awake for five minutes already has me getting up in pain. The doctors said Carpal Tunnel and after taking blood said theres severe inflammation. It is impossible to live with this any longer. I need help PLEASE. Any thing you have to say is great. I am completely open and willing to look into any possibilities.
Thank You.
It may or may not have happened due to you Epidural Anaesthesia which your Anaesthetist and post op doctor would confirm!
If it is a carpal tunnel syndrome it occurs whenever you over work with fingers, when in vacation of your children and you are free you will feel good. When you have to do lot of things at home, fine functions with your fingers you will have these problems.
You have to go to a good Neurologist at a good centre and start medications/physiotherapy and also follow up on this!
