Post-op forearm numbness

by jorielulof, Oct 28, 2009 01:04AM
Three months ago I had surgery for v-y lengthening for medial epicondilytis.  Since then I have had numbness in most of my forearm.  Is this likely to resolve?  Is there any treatment to help rid this symptom?

Hello!

You would need physiotherapy after complete healing of the surgery. There might be nerve involvement and with regeneration and with physiotherapy you will get the sensation back.

If required go for a post operative check up and consider an MRI to know the status. Discuss with the operative surgeon about the best course of action and ask him to refer your to a physiotherapist.

Take care!

The information was so helpful and so hopeful.  I will ask about the physiotherapy when I see the surgeon.  Thanks so much.
