My father who is 78 has just had a knee replacement all seems fine with the knee but he is now suffering from what the doctors say is post operation syndrome. He is totally delerious and making very little sense. It is very upsetting for the whole family and he has no history of delerium. He is talking to people who are not there and Ididnt know if anyone has any experiance of this
How is your dad feeling now?
When did his symptoms start? What are his symptoms?
Some patients can have post-operative delusion depending upon the type of anesthesia and the drug used. The effect will gradually wean off.
You can discuss with the surgeon and anesthetist regarding the symptoms if it persist for long.
Keep me informed if you have any queries.
