Postsurgery problems

by latextoe, Mar 27, 2009 02:35PM
I had surgery from a podiatrist on my foot for a fall downstairs years before to correct a tiny bone that seemed to be sticking upward on top of my foot.
Was told postsurgery that the bone was diseased and had to be removed with a silicone replacement put in.
Since then (year ago or so) and from that point, I have had increasing pain (kind of a drawing pain toward where the replacement sits) especially when I walk much so you can imagine the pain when I run, etc. I also have some swelling.  I did have some numbness in toes before surgery, but it seems worse now. What alarms me most is that it feels as though one toe is now very swollen and because of that, it slips sideways under the next toe and I nearly fall. It's all getting worse, not better and I can only tolerate old gym shoes. I'm reduced to a much less active lifestyle.

But I would so appreciate your help.
Thank you.
