Potts disesse of D12

My father is 67 year old and a ckd stage 3 patient recently he was sdmitted to hodpital for severe anemia and peptic ulcer, but was treated successfully. But from 28th june 2016 he was having a back pain with high fever so my doctor suggests for MRI whose report says that lumbar spondylosis with degenerative disc disease at L1-2, L2-3, L4-5, L5-SI. Mild bilateral nerve root canal narrowing at L4-5. D-spine mri says mild collapse of D11 with abnormal marrow signal of D11 & anteriosupeeior D12 with right side paravertebral soft tissue & collection-likely tuberculous in etiology.now on 22nd aug his ESR value was 113 and he is on AKT4 from 17th of aug 2016. He was on fentanyl patch to reduce the severe pain.almost 4 weeks is going to complete but yhe pain in the rib area is not reducing whereas the pain in legs are not there any more. Pls suggest how much time will it take to reduce the pain as its very severe pain anf he can not even use the bathroom. Can heating pad help?
