Reverse Shoulder Prosthesis

by SunnyD2, Apr 26, 2007 12:00AM
Husband has had 3 shoulder surgeries 10 years ago. One rotator cuff tear repaired and holding its own. Other shoulder had two surgeries and cuff completely gone. He can only raise his arm elbow height. Orthopedic doctor said that shoulder is perfect for replacement surgery. Said he is a bit young (age 64) for it but is in excellent health and thinking of doing it now. Has anyone else had Reverse Shoulder Prosthesis surgery? If so how are they doing, etc. We were told this type has only been out about 5 years and no idea yet how long its good for. He has quite a bit of pain.
