Rolled my ankle

Today I rolled my ankle, fell on it actually all of my weight was put into it. Immediately heard 2 cracks that were pretty loud, I don't know if it was just cracking from stored air or if I did something to it. Got up immediately and tried standing on it, I could but with a good deal of pain. Felt nauseous, light headed, sick, and going to throw up. They wore off after a good 5-10 minutes it was gone. I can walk on my left foot but not without pain.

What should I do?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello!

The first thing you do is rule out fracture by an X-ray. If you do not have fractures then apply ice packs to decrease the pain and inflammation and take pain killers intermittently.

You can use a crepe bandage or an ankle brace, or a proper supportive boot to immobilize the injured ankle for couple of weeks. Do not do weight bearing on the injured ankle and with rest and followed by physiotherapy you would be fine if you do not have any fracture.

Take care!
