SEVERE constant thoracic pain

hey guys, I've had back problems for a long time now, but for the past week, it has been constant, and unbearable, i can't sleep, it hurts to walk, sit, lay down, or the simplest movement hurts. It has been so bad that many times i cry. I have been given Lidoderm(lidocaine patch 5%), Ibuprofen 800mg, Orphenadrine citrate 100mg, and Tramadol 50mg, all of these i take/use many times daily, and nothing is helping, the pain feels as if it's on my spine around the area of my bra strap, I had xrays done a few days ago, and the doctors didnt find anything, but they don't think that it may be muscular, Im' having an MRI soon, something is seriously wrong. please help.

it really just bothers me that I dont have leg nor botox pain, and my syptoms don't direct to anything. One of my biggest problems is that it hurts to inhale sometimes and it REALLY hurts when i lay down(no matter how I'm positioned) Walking is also VERY painful, but The pain seems to come on alot worse after I'm finished walking, i guess Resting.. Often time i get light-headed too.
One thing that really has me afraid is that my older sister was just diagnosed with cancer called Medulloblastoma. In her brain and spinal cord. but this isnt genetic. but her pain started out with back pain. and she's worried because she says that she had the pain in the same area as me, but the doctors won't check me for it just for doubt. My whole family is worried about it.
is this possible?

thanks. umm..another one of my problems that aren't mentioned is that i have been coughing up black stuff since September. and yes, i do smoke. i think it may all be related. I'm not sure. I have to cough some into a sterilized jar and then take it for a biopsy. I've tried to do research on this but i can't find anything.. but thanks for the reply. ^^

Medulloblastoma occurs during the period of brain formation in a developing fetus.  Something happens to scramble a small number of cells.  Early in life, usually between the ages of 3-9 something triggers and the cells begin to grow into a canerous tumor.  Symptoms vary depending on the size and location of the tumor.  All symptoms begin with headaches, vomiting, a drunken gait and visual problems.  Severity depends on the size of the tumor.  As the tumor grows, the symptoms worsen.  It is very rare for this to occur in adults, and you cannot acquire it; you must be born with it.  These tumors grow very fast and may sometimes move into the fluids of the spinal cord. When this occurs, a leak in the Cerebrospinal fluid may occur in the form of a drippy clear nasal discharge.  If you have a runny nose, taste it. If it is CSF leakage it will taste sweet. Normal nasal dripage is salty. This is most often diagnosed via a spinal fluid test, which carries risk.  Doctor's don't do this lightly and insurance companies will not pay for it just for peace of mind.  If you desire to pay for this yourself, the doctor may prescribe it.  With your symptoms it is doubtful that you have this cancer so it is understandable that the doc doesn't want to put you through this test. Thoracic pain can be caused by a number of things.  If you suspect cancer, it may be seen on a regular chest xray.  Arthritis of the rib bones may cause your type of pain, or your spine may be out of alignment slightly.  If your xrays and CT/MRI are "normal", take them to a chiropractor and get a spinal manipulation to see if that is your problem.  Hope this helps.
