Same knees, 2nd Meniscus Tear

What would be the best choice for a previous healthy R knee that suffered a full thick tendon/meniscus tear due to poor surgical technique on L knee that failed/buckled causing a fall resulting in the R tear? I have now had surgical repair for L & R knees. L knee shows on MRI a post surgical re-tear. R knee has symptoms of re-tear also but no MRI has been orderd to confirm. The surgeon wants to inject Supartz to the L knee and ignore the R knee that likely has a re-torn meniscus. Both knees are unstable with buckling and  R knee level 9--10 pain.. Bottom line question:  can a tear of the meniscus be surgically repaired TWICE??  Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there!

Yes, a surgery can be repeated though it is not a typical repair but a re-modelling that is done for meniscal tears, in most cases.
Hope this helps.

Take care!
