Scar creme on surgery cut

I could easily look up good working scar cremes online but I'm wondering what maybe some of you have used.

I want to apply some scar creme to a surgery cut but not sure works the best. I have heard neosporin and cocoa butter (Not fond of the smell but I can put up with it if you recommend it)

What do you guys use?

I got scar fading gel online, www.skinlight.com.  I think it is working, Only had it 2 weeks, I have a nasty scar on my forearm following an accident, I think the colour has faded slightly. I also use Bio-oil to keep it moist.
