Hi GhostlyTekk, this condition is really quite common in your age group. It's called patellofemoral pain syndrome, it generally is associated with tightness of muscles & connective tissue on the outside of your thigh (TFL, VL) in conjunction with a weak inside muscle (VMO). If you interested I would suggest having a wikipedia & youtube of how these muscles work,if you are interested in how these muscle work. But without seeing you, I would suggest stretching those lateral muscles and strengthening those medially.
