Shorter/longer leg

How do you determine if one leg is shorter than other and could it be the reason for my right leg/foot and knee problems?  I have had posterior tibilis dysfunction in right foot and neuromas as well as osteoarthritis, now torn cartilege in right knee and hip pain.

hi there i have just been told after seeing a orthopedic dr that my son has an half an inch shortage on his left leg(femur) .which is very noticeable too.
they measured his legs tibia and femur on both legs, took x-rays. he also has half an inch less in diametre too. he has to have built up shoe,to level him out and then wait to see again. hope this helps.

After breaking my femur,I went through a bunch of surgeries. My right leg ended up being shorter than my left. At first,it didn't bother me but then I started to get a lot of pain in my right heel and left hip. A trip to the orthotics/prosthetics office showed that my right leg was an inch shorter than my left. They built a shoe with the added inch and the pain went away within a day. Hope this helps.
