Shoulder reconstruction confusion

Shoulder reconstruction confusion

I had a motorcycle accident 7 months ago and subsequently had an MRI which reported full thickness tears of the supraspinatus and subscapularis and possible partial tear of the LHB tendon. The supraspinatus had retracted 3.5 cm. I had a repair done 4 months ago and was told by my specialist that only the supraspinatus was reattached with 2 anchors - he said I didn't really need the subscap anyway. On my 2nd follow-up visit he said he also did a LHB tenotomy and on my 3rd visit he now says it was a SLAP repair! All news to me! I'm confused, as he hasn't mentioned the supraspinatus repair again on either follow-up visit. I'm suspicious that maybe he doesn't even remember what he did, as he does about 10 of these repairs a week, and I have never seen a report of what he actually did. I asked him for a copy and he just gave me the run-around. I still have a lot of pain and no strength in my arm and it seems to be getting worse. The pain is not so much in my shoulder as around my elbow and down into my forearm and at times something catches in the bicep area when I move a certain way.  I can't extend or abduct my arm above waist height and rotation is painful. I have been doing all the exercises and having PT once a week. Prior to the operation I was using my arm almost normally and had very little pain but the specialist convinced me I would lose the use of my arm if I didn't have the op. asap.  Do you think this guy is dodgy? He is supposed to be a shoulder specialist.
