Shoulder

I went for an MRI with revealed brusitis with a possible tare in the labrum. I received a cortizone shot just yesterday, but my Dr does not think the pain if from the possible tare. Pain I have is when I throw a baseball or footbal or anything my shoulder hurts like I have never felt pain before for about 1 minute and starts to get better.

Question is does this sound like brusitius or the labrum that would be more likely causing the pain?

Thanks

Hi there!

The labrum tear/ inflammation/ flare is more likely to cause pain while throwing a ball, while bursitis is more likely to cause pain when the hand is not elevated. Yes, a cortisone shot may be associated with increased pain and discomfort for the initial few days before it finally settles down.
Hope this information helps.

Take care!

Also, would a cortizone injection give you more pain on your shoulder for days after the injection?
