Snapping Hip

Snapping Hip

Hi,
My name is Stefan. I am 17, 6'3", and 155lbs. I am into competitive running and have been struggling with chronic hip pain related to my running. When my strides turn over I can feel a snapping sensation on both of my hips. The snapping itself is not painful, but every once in a while it becomes painful.  I have done a bit of research on the internet, and it seems that I may have snapping hip syndrome. Every time before I run I stretch the area in isolation. I also have tried icing it, even trying anti-inflamitories several times.

So, my primary question is, is there anything else can I do about it? Also when looking for answers one day, i came upon this orthopedic website: http://orthoinfo.aaos.org/topic.cfm?topic=A00363
In the first paragraph, it suggests that young athletes often experience snapping hip. Does this mean that their is a high probability that I may grow out of this problem?

Thank you for your time, I really enjoy running and hope to do it into old age.
Stefan
