Spinal Injection

The MRI results showed a ruptured disc on L-5......  I have shooting pain when I sit, stand and walk down the left leg.  Tomorrow I am going to have a spinal injection (steriod) into the troubling disc.  The doc has promised that I will get good relief for several months.  If I still have a little pain then I can have another injection.  Does this really work?  I can hardly wait for the procedure...... Please.......let me know if anyone has done this and what is their experience.

I know you've already had it.  I hope it's going well.  Mine only lasted 2-3 weeks which I've found out is not uncommon.  It is a good diagnostic though and will give your ortho doc further guidance into your condition.  It worked amazingly well while it lasted though and I definitely recommend it.  I really couldn't believe how the sciatic pain virtually vanished!!

I have decided not to do another since it lasted so little, and I had to have a friend take a day off of work just to take me in, pay a fairly hefty copay etc.
