Spondylolysis(fracture) and spondylolysthesis

Hi. I have Spondylolysis...a defect in the pars interarticularis of a vertebra. wish is basically a stress fracture in my L5 vertabrae. Its bilateral. so this casued mild spondylolysthesis(slippage of the vartabrae). The Dr told thre was nothing he could do..just do a fusion when the slippage got severe..or the pain was too much. The last time I saw him was in January.and the pain back then was horrible and every single day.. (I also experience radiating pain in both legs). So I asked him if could order me a corset to deal with the pain..so I di get one and wore the the brace thingy for about a month or two. umm it did help wotht he pain but then the thing itself caused pain so I took it off and never put it on again. We were supposed to come back in February..but we never did. How soon should my mom make the appt.? she doent even want to take x-rays of it. she wants to take x-rays of my mild scoliosis, which is not necessary cus the dr. said it wasnt going to progress. But shes not convinced. And my second question is..what is a bad decision taking off the corset?
