i sprained my ankle on friday and todayi went to the hospital and they took an exray and said to just have a compression tube on it. in the beginning i had a weak ankle anyways being that i have sprained this one about 4 times. while im walking ono my foot it keeps rolling (inverting) i was wondering if it would be a good idea to get a cast for a little wile also due to me having to stand all daydoing clinics at college for massage therapy? it is real sore and still swelled. allso doing RICE and not helping to much. should i get a cast?

If you do not have a fracture normally with ligament sprain you are given bandages, compression tubes to relieve your pain and to rest your ankle and so that your day to day activities are not disturbed.
Plaster of paris cast can always be given and you have to discuss with your Orthopaedician about this and also explain the 4 past episodes. Do not exert your ankle and take enough rest.
Take care!
