Surgery on R collarbone, now L one is messing up!

by shannonwooten, Sep 25, 2007 11:04PM
I had surgery on my RGHT collarbone about 6 months ago (sternoclavicular joint repair). It dislocated multiples times a day for 4 years (Where the collarbone meets the breast bone).  During the surgery, the doc took my neck muscle and wrapped it around my collarbone and rib to make it a stable joint. The surgery was successful, it is stable and does not dislocated anymore.

I still have some pain at the join, and in my neck because of the muscle they used. Still have some pain in my neck/shoulder sometimes.

WELL, now my LEFT collarbone is messing up. I am starting to get new pain on my LEFT side- my neck and collarbone region. I am pretty sure it is dislocating as well. Every time I move my arm in a certain direction, like I did with my right, it pops out of the joint.

Any reason this could be? Never had any problems before my surgery.
