Synvisc knee injections

Are Synvisc knee injections painful?

I've not had the Synvisc, but rather had teh Euflexxa - basically same injection except the Euflexxa is made of non-avian materials (I'm allergic to feathers so can't use the Synvisc).  The only semi-painful part of teh injection (for me anyway) was the injection of the numbing medication used before the actual medication injection.  I felt the needle stick and then the burn from the numbing medication, but once that took effect, I didn't feel anything else.  I know not all doctors use the numbing medication, so not sure how it would have felt if I didn't have it - I would request it from your doc.
