Talus inflammation

My daughter just had an MRI done on her ankle.  They told her she has an inflammation in the bone marrow of the talus.  Anyone know what this means?  Sounds scary to me.

Gallium-67 is taken up by areas of inflammation, This can be observed as diffuse bone marrow edema of the medial talus on MRI.

The inflammation of the bone marrow may have many reasons and do not panic till proper diagnosis is made. All inflammations do not give rise to cancers.

This inflammation might be due to infection, due to Osteochondritis dissecans etc

Tell her to wear proper foot wear and take some non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs and follow up near her orthopaedician for proper diagnosis and treatment.
Take care!
