I am 35. I do weight lifting, not professionally but for fitness. About 4 weeks ago I started having pain on my right elbowElbow pain and this was caused by some new excercises that I introduced into my programme which gave excess weight on forearm. My mistake was that I suddenly put too much weight without starting slowly because I was used to heavy weights with the other muscle groups which were already trained though. I continued excercising despite the pains for 2 weeks and then I visited the doctor who diagnosed tennisRotator cuff tendinitis Tennis elbowelbowElbow pain. He sugested I rest my elbowElbow pain for a month but not completely. Just avoid excercises that put weight on forearm but continues with excercises on the other handHand or foot spasms Hand tremor and running. I did so for 2 weeks and I also went into physiotherapy, took voltarenVoltaren Voltaren ophthalmic Voltaren topical Voltaren-xr for a week but I still have pain especially when I close hard my fist.
My question is if this progress is normal. After all this shouldn't the pain go already? also, is it correct to excercise other body parts and go running since running causes the elbow to make the same movement for one hour, and excercising my left hand also causes tension on my right hand?
I had that earlier this spring. I couldn't even lift a cup up to drink from it with the affected arm. I treid all the conservative treatment appreaches, and I ended up haveing to get steroid injection in the joint before I could get any relief. Now, 3 months later, I can lift up a glass and lift other light things, but can't lift any6thing heavy with that arm. I tried to lift a hammer yesterday and realized very quickly that it was a very bad idea. Have you tried a counterforce brace for your arm? I found those to be incredibly helpful. If i had been wearing the brace yesterday, I would have been able to lift the hammer with much less pain. I wouldn't have dared to actually use that hammer, but I could have lifted it without pain.
