Toe itchy really hurt then bruised?

My middle toe started to itch so I rubbed it not hard, it then hurt like mad went into like a spasm, as if the toe joint was out of place.

I now have a big bruise on it, this also happened some time ago with one of my fingers.

Can anyone tell me what caused this

hi cathyab,
the skin around the toe's are very sensitive. Vigorous itching resulted into injury which resulted into vasodillatation (increase blood supply) and triggered off your pain receptors.
Take few anti-inflamatories drugs for 3-5 days and rest ofcourse.
If it persists, do X-ray of the affected part and meet an orthopaedician.
