Treatment options for Schmorl's node, thecal sac narrowing, and marrow edema

Could someone give me some insight on treatment options for the following??
This comes from an L-spine MRI reading done recently.  I am looking for best and worst case scenarios.  My boyfriend and I are trying to figure out how to make the best of this until he can actually see a physician, which is about 4 weeks from now.  He is in a lot of pain and is experiencing incontinence at times.

Please HELP!!!  

1.  S1. Disc dessication (desiccation), annular bulge,
mild bilateral facet arthropathy. No significant stenosis as seen without contrast.

2. Schmorls node inferior endplate L1 and superior endplate S1 with mild marrow edema.

3. Annular bulge at all lumbar levels, with mild thecal sac narrowing at L1-L2,L2-L3,L3-L4, and L4-L5. Mild thecal arthropathy at L4-L5 and L5-S1.

Schmorl's nodes are ingrowths of the intervertebral disc connective tissue into the vertebral body, which may be associated with inflammation to cause symptoms. There is no specific treatment for Schmorl’s nodes and if symptomatic management is aimed at control of inflammation. Likewise management of marrow oedema is aimed at treating the underlying cause and anti-inflammatory measures.
        Thecal sac compression causing spinal canal narrowing may need to be managed actively with interventional or surgical measures, though in a few situations conservative measures may be justified. It would be best to discuss the situation and the appropriate management plan in detail with your orthopedician/ neurologist/ neurosurgeon. Meanwhile you may try bed rest, warm compresses and some NSAIDS/ prescribed painkillers for relief.
