Two Years after Total Knee Replacement

I had both knees replaced in July 2009 The left one is great but the right has started swelling with normal functions. I have tired staying off it as much as possible it helps a little but as soon as I start walking on it it swells again. Just wondering if any one has any thoughts?

Hi there!

Well, it would be difficult to predict the cause of your discomfort without a clinical evaluation. Possibilities include hardware issues, infections, inflammations, degenerations, neurological issues, micronutrient deficiencies etc. All possibilities would need to be looked into individually. It would be difficult to suggest anything at this stage, without a diagnosis at hand. The best that I can advice is to keep in touch with your orthopedician for an evaluation.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
