Upper Back Pain

Upper Back Pain

I believe I've pinched a nerve somewhere in my back, and it's causing a severe stabbing pain on the upper right back every time I breath in.  It was so intense last night when I went to bed (propped on some pillows) that I couldn't catch my breath and began crying from the pain, and it takes alot of pain to make me cry.  I tried ice and heat yesterday to no avail, and I'm still in a massive amount of pain today.  Is there anything I can do at home to ease it?  I've taken some advil.  Will it ease up on it's own or do I need to go to a doctor?  I hate to go to the doctor for something that will go away on it's own.

Thanks.

Hello!

Continue pain killers and apply anti inflammatory gels with hot packs to relieve the pain and give you some relief.

If the pain does not decrease or symptoms increase in the next couple of days you would need to visit a physician.

Take care!
