Violent Head Pains Daily-Due to muscle spasms?

by brilmont, Sep 18, 2009 05:48AM
I need help quick.  I've never thought of myself as suicidal until now.  I can't take it anymore. No one's been able to help.  I've seen many doctors (pain centers, neurologists, neurosurgeons, endocronologists, chiropractors) and I still live with these violent head pains.  Everytime I stand up and walk, whenever I bend over and straighten up, whenever I get angry or frustrated, feel sudden fear, take a shower, lift something heavy or strain I get the pains that start at the base of my skull and work their way up the sides of my head to the top and then EXPLODE.  The pains only last about 5 minutes and then they're gone like nothing ever happened until the next time I try to do something.  I'm crying and screaming in pain all the time, everyday, all day.  I used to have a few good days every couple of weeks but, not anymore.  These have been going on for years.  The last 3 years the worst.  The last one year I've gained about 60 lbs. because I'm afraid to move.  I don't get a good night sleep anymore either this last year because now it hurts to sleep on the back of my head.  Nothing shows up on MRI's.  I do have mild arthritis in the neck w/ mild stenosis in the facet joints.  I received occipital nerve block and facet joint injections with no positive results.  I do have a pituitary tumor for which I am taking 40mg of Bromocriptine per day.  Pain from Pituitary ruled out.  Theories from food intolerance to orthostatic hypotention also ruled out.  Seems now were just looking at muscle spasms.  I do spend about 8-15 hours a day in front of a computer.  Pain killer like Vicoden, Motrin, Tramadol don't work.  What can I do?  I need my life back.  My husband needs a wife and my children need their mother.  My house is a mess and everythings going downhill and I can't do anything about it.  Please face me in the right direction.

Hello!

There are some situations in life where it is difficult finding solutions easily. You have to understand that the diagnosis of your problem is getting difficult and that is causing all the problems.
Discuss with a good neurologist and think in the lines of migraine and follow up with treatment and you will get a lead somewhere.
Pituitary problems coupled with cervical vertebra issues sure are aggravating your cause.
Suicide is not a treatment for your problems and discuss about proper pain killers for your problem.
Stress will aggravate your problem further, have proper sleep and eat healthy and follow up at a multi specialty centre.

Take care!
