Vitamin D deficiency and groin pull.

Vitamin D deficiency and groin pull.

I was diagnosed with a vitamin D deficiency and am currently on Vitamin D therapy.

I'm in my mid- sixties and up to 2 weeks ago regularly exercised. While exercising I think I may have pulled my groin and thigh area from vigorous leg exercise. It is very stiff in the morning and takes me a while to get going.
Now I'm afraid to move.Could the vitamin D defieciency have contributed to the muscle strain? What treatment could I use to ease the morning stiffness.I also have some stiffness when I sit for a long time and then try to walk can be very painful.I take an occasional advil for it.
Thank you.

Hello!

Vitamin D deficiency can cause osteoporosis and bone related problems. Soft tissue injuries are due to trauma, fall, physical exertion involving thighs and legs.

I would suggest you to take a break for couple of days and also to take NSAIDs. If the pain does not decrease then you would need a physical examination near an orthopedician to diagnose any injuries.

Osteoporosis can be diagnosed by an X-ray of the involved bone.

Take care!

Thank you very much.
I'm afraid I overdid the exercise.
