Volleyball Top-of-Foot Injury

When playing volleyball, an opponent landed squarely on top of my foot.  I have mild pain and a popping feeling between big toe and next toe, about 2" from the bottom of the toes.  I can walk, but it forces me to limp.  No discoloration, no swelling (or so little I can't tell).
This was 2 days ago.  I played with no pain right afterwards.  Went home, no pain.  Woke up the next morning with the pain and the popping sensation.
What treatment(s) are needed?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello!

When you walk do not put pressure on the affected toes for couple of days. You can also take some pain killers to relieve the pain.

Continue applying ice packs and if the pain continues beyond couple of days then get an X-ray scan done.

Take care!

The standard rest, ice, compression and elevation should do the trick. The popping may be due to something swollen. Take it easy for a few weeks.
