Water like fluid drain from incision after laminectomy discectomy

Hi,
I am 30 yrs old guy, just had my L4-L5, S1 laminectomy discectomy surgery on  24/01/2015. Since the day from my surgery,  Water like fluid draining from incision till now.  I am on medication, so there was no pain in incision.  but I am really worring about the fluid draining. hence I spoke to my Dr, he said nothing to worry.
although please advise me, is that incision drainage is a common thing, or do I need to take any precautions.

Hello thanks for responding. I'm still in hospital and the doctor said that since I am young there is drainage from the incision which is due to high level of water and blood content In my body.not sure whether to trust the doctor or not.

Your doctor is probably the best judge of whether or not to worry, and incision drainage is common with many surgical procedures. However, to be safe, make an appointment and see your doctor next week.
