Weight bearing on cuboid fracture.

I walked on my right foot in pain for a while. When I finally went to the dr I was first told it was from high arches and need arch supports. When I went to the foot dr they found a fractured cuboid bone. I have been in a cam boot weight bearing for two weeks. I was wondering if anyone else has been weight bearing the first weeks. Seems like everything I read says I should be non weight bearing.

Hi there!

Weight bearing needs to be avoided for about 4-6 weeks after the fracture. Walking boots are helpful during the period since they take the area of stress during walking away from the fracture site, thus acting in the same way as non-weight bearing of the fractured point.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!

I should add I work in retail and am on my feet 6-10 hours a day. I am still in pain. I am 43 , 5'6" 135 lbs. I have had a hysterectomy which the dr said could effect my bone density.
