What exercises help?

I have had this severe right side hip problem for about a year now. It radiates down the left side of my leg into my knees. When standing or sitting at the desk it feels like someone is pulling on it. When I am in bed I cannot get comfortable. No matter what side I lay on I get this burning sensation and I have a hard time lifting my leg up to even get out of bed. If I have sweats on I have to grab them and pull myself up. It is getting worse, however I have no insurance so this is why I haven't been to a doctor about it. Could it be prevented by some kind of exercise? I also have fibromyalgia so curious to know if that might be part of it.

Thanks

I wonder if you have trochanteric hip bursitis?  I'm not a doctor, so I wouldn't know, but I have that, and it goes from a little ball-shaped thing just below the hip (the bursa) down to the knee. It's from a tight ilio-tibial band.  Look up ilio-tibial band exercises on Google.  There's a great exercise that helped me a lot but I can't remember its name.  The army has a web site with exercises for "ilio-tibial band" problems, and I found this exercise on that. If I can remember its name, I'll let you know.  But if your problem is different, then the exercise might be bad for you. I wish you could consult a doctor or physical therapist.  Sorry.
