Wrist fracture?

I'm a 40 year old male.

In late December I fell forward on some ice.  I instinctively placed my left arm forward as I fell, with palm out and fingers forward.  The palm of my left hand hit the ground first.

Ever since then, my wrist has been sore.  It is most sore when my hand is bent 90 degrees in either direction.  If I do pushups, for example, I have to make a fist with my left hand; if I try to do pushups with my fingers forward, it's too painful.

It's now mid February, and the pain doesn't seem to be going away. :(

I have a doctor's appointment on 26-Feb.  But now I'm getting worried... what are the chances I severely messed something up in my wrist?  Do you think it's just the tendons?  Or could it be a bone fracture?  With my left hand I can still type, open doors, etc.  The pain is only there when my hand begins to bend 90 degrees in either direction.

there are a few things that could be wrong with your wrist.
cyst (a ball of gel like liquid) that appeares after an injury
sprain which is gona be sore for a while
possible hairline fracture - which i dont think you have, wrist usually brake in the same spot (when bending your wrist, from bend point about 1-2 inches towards the elbow)
or just something as simple as tendonites.
if you dont have a fracture an anti inflamatory medication can defenetly help, or a cortizon injection (lydocain and depomedrol) into the wrist.

You could have fractured your scaffoid(sp?) bone.  i did when i fell and put my hands out to break my fall...I did not find out until 2 weeks after..they put ur arm in a cast up to your elbow.  it is not bad.  good luck!
