Wrist pain

I have really small wrist so I don't think they are very strong!!  They always crack and if I bend them back they crack!  Lifting makes them ache and I ride horses so when I groom the horses my wrist will really hurt!! I also swing dance which cause a lot of wrist pain as well!! If I accidentally twist or bend my wrist the wrong way I get a really sharp aching pain for about 30 or 40 seconds!!  Does anyone know anything about that???  Would wearing wrist braces help?? Hello!

You can wear a wrist band or a brace till your wrist is properly scanned and your problem diagnosed. Do not exert your wrist.

Get X-rays done on your wrist to check all your carpal bones and your distal ends of radius and ulna. If your bones are intact you would need to check for any soft tissue tendon tears in your wrist due to past injuries.

By 9-12 years of your age all your carpal bones start to ossify.

Follow up with an orthopedician.

Hi Sarah,  Have you seen an Orthopedic hand doctor?  do your research and don't just go to the closest doctor to the house, I did and now i'm paying for it my every waking moment. A MRI will show if you had torn cartliage or any soft tissue damage.  In my opinion until you see a Orthopedic hand doctor i'm find a quality hand brace.  Sarah i've had 4 hand operations and there no picnic, I know the pain your expierencing.  I have a thread i started in Nov 09 call TOTAL WRIST FUSION if you want to read about what i and others went though.  good luck  Phill.  if you like, i have no problem answering any other questions you may have if i can answer them regarding your wrist

I haven't seen a doctor bout it yet but I am going to!!  It is both of my wrists!! My mom as RA but I am too young for that aren't I? Where can I get a wrist brace for now? Thanks for the help!!
